XIII. FESTIVAL OF SWING MUSIC

J.J. Jazzmen play in the style of Louis Armstrong. They are one of the most popular Dixieland ensembles of Czech musical scene. Their guest Petra Vlková is emotional, vivid and elegant singer. The otherones are singer and famous czech trombonist Bažik Pavelka and New Orleans jazz clarinetist Evan Christopher. Evan combinates virtuosity and enthusiasm with a deep interest in exploring the full range of musical possibilities. His highly individual sound is rooted in the expressive style of earlier creolian clarinetists like Sidney Bechet, Omer Simeon and Barney Bigard.
Lubos Andršt Blues Band. Czech phenomenal guitarist Luboš Andršt with his band. Their guest is guitarist and singer Jesse Ballard from USA, whose music is very poetic and powerful. The second guest, Czech saxophonist Joe Kučera played for example in the legendary group "Framus Five," in Berlin where he lives is also known under the name "The Sensational Saxophone Joe".
Ondřej Havelka and his Melody Makers are insistently linked with swing festivals in the National House in Vinohrady since their begining. Precise and lively interpretation of songs, a sense of the show, wit and insight with unique Ondrej Havelka, the head of ensemble.
NOTHING BUT SWING refers to important musicians 40th and 50th of the last century. Their guest is excellent multi-genre violinist and composer Stano Paluch from Slovakia.
T A K E 6 is phenomenal vocal ensemble. Take 6 is a winner of many prestigious music awards (eight times Grammy price, ten times Dove Awards in gospel music area, seven times in the vocal group category in the prestigious Down Beat magazine, and many others). This ensemble is the top of the festival. The group sings in a contemporary style that combines R & B, gospel and jazz. Take 6 is an absolute top vocal ensemble, characterized by perfect intonation, arrangement and rhythmic playfulness. Their concerts are always an extraordinary experience.
